Te.Ve.Mail
Has Arrived!
Te.Ve.Mail will allow consumers to share files between
two different Digital Video Recorder devices. This product
enables consumers to share a favorite digitally recorded
television or satellite program with another digital video
recorder user. Similar file sharing technology allows computer
users to share files with one another, but Te.Ve.Mail takes this
technology to the next step, applying it to digital video
recorder users.
Digital Video Recorders allow the consumer
to set and record television shows, movies and other programs
when they are unable to watch them. This helpful device allows
those at work or at play to easily view their favorite shows at
more convenient times. Unfortunately, if one forgets to set the
DVR, they are unable to watch the show until it airs in repeats,
or becomes available on disc. Te.Ve.Mail provides individuals
that have recorded the show with a means to share the episode
with a friend who didn't record the show.

Te.Ve.Mail utilizes file-sharing hardware
and software to transfer television shows from one digital video
recorder to another. This technology utilizes cable lines such
as phone lines, T1 cable and/or broadband cable to transfer and
store files using existing DVR memory space. This existing
technology is simply applied to DVR designs, allowing consumers
to easily share files as desired. Offered as an upgrade kit and
as an option on new Digital Video Recorders, the components,
designs and features will vary dependent upon the manufacturing
needs. The Te.Ve.Mail system features a uniquely designed,
rechargeable remote. This remote also features audible beeping
capabilities, allowing the user to simply push the pager button
located on the front of the DVR in order to locate the remote
when it is misplaced. The estimated speed of transfer from one
DVR to another is approximately 2 Megs to send and 30 Megs to
download.

Te.Ve.Mail simply expands on current technology by
incorporating it into new applications and allows users to not
only share programs, but provides them with a means of sharing
digital photos or home movies with others as well. Methods in
which to send and receive the files will vary and may be
determined by the manufacturing agent.
